After reading an article about Henri Cartier Bresson..and his decisive moments I thought about shots I have taken where one second later it would have disappeared and the moment gone. Anyone experience this? Please share your decisive moments.
Here's one..two seconds later that eel was down his throat. Broad Creek,Hilton Head 2011.

good one ..nice sequence.
I timed this shot as his trainer was repeating a sequence where the elephant scooped up water in his trunk from the pond at his feet, held it high in the air as seen in this photo, then shot the water at the audience.
Elephant Tricks
On the wing. Just happened to have the camera locked and loaded. Notice how many of these are wildlife?
Next is one that isn't.
Just took flight.
Birthday joy!
Sammy... he was getting tired of the flash!
not real sharp but only had a second
i think this one qualifies... right place, right time, and just crazy enough to try. how long does a soap bubble last? i got three fast frames before it popped...
Perhaps not a decisive moment, but it happened exactly as I envisioned it. Minimal post processing...would I try to deceive you? (Ha)!

Love the bird and eel shot.....Great capture
This what photography is about to capture the moment and the instant something happen. The split second between two photographers shot in l963 decided which one won the Pulitzer Prize. The shot Oswald being shot by Jack Ruby. Photographs that capture your eye and stick to the root of your retina have this quality.

*swoon*
Spectacular photo and timing!!
If I'd done this one... it would be on my wall in a heartbeat!
(And my g-kids would LOVE LOVE LOVE it, too. Bubble-freaks, like their Nana *snickers*)

Fun topic, yes I do have one of my husband out on Lake Borgne, by the M.R.G.O. (Mississippi River Gulf Outlet) the one Katrina ran up and then flooded half of St. Bernard and many other Parishes in Louisiana.
It was taken in front of Fort Beauregard a historic fort which was used during the Civil War. It's now surrounded by water , but you can get to it by boat.
Anyhow, I took the picture a few years ago with my P&S as we driving by it. The clouds landed just perfectly around his head, and the colors came out great. I did almost no P/P.
