Just trying out the SX50 I got to back up my T5i DSLR. Looks like a pretty fair beast considering the size of the sensor. Works well all through the 50X and even quite good up to the max. 200X. Cant crop the max digital pics but the IQ even there is quite good. However, will be hard to put down my DSLR and just use this little whatchacallit.

Yes tis so. I think it's a good bridge camera but won't replace my DSLR yet!

Been a nature photo'er for more years than I can remember. A camera is just a tool of the trade. Been a Canon man fer 50 years. Nice thing bout staying with one system is that a lot of the controls on the SX50 mimics those on my DSLR making it a bit easier to use.
