Quick shot of a Hawk

Last summer hubby and I decided to take a walk in the Soldiers Cemetery in Gettysburg. Nice day, so I took my camera. Unfortunately, it started to cloud up and drizzle. On our way out a flap of the wings caught my attention and I got one quick shot before he hopped to another branch almost out of sight and then flew off. He was watching something. I think we ruined his lunch plans! Too bad the pines surrounding him is what focused, but still happy to get a shot. Starting to see a lot of Hawks. Hoping to get another chance.

Gorgeous shot. These types of shots are great finds and you have to be quick. Great clarity and color. Gettysburg is a great area for photos.

Nicely done, I suspect the hawk was going over the battle in his mind.
I was in South Australia a couple of weeks ago and had a different problem, a dove that could't fly away. It had fallen into a watering trough and had drowned. I was saddened that I hadn't come by in time to save it but never less was struck by the contrast between the green of the algae in the water and the color of the dove.

Sad about the Dove, but yes, I see what you mean!
