Agnesm, your bookcase is about identical to one my parents have except theirs have two more shelves. About to move it into my house with all its old books.

Really been enjoying everyone's posts. Love antiques.
These pictures are of the pedestal on my oak dining room table. It was my Grandparent's and dates back to about 1901. The sideboard that matches it has a paper that says Montgomery Ward.

Just wanted to let everyone know that sometime tomorrow I have to shut down my internet. We leave Thurs. a.m. to head home to Ontario. I have withdrawal symptoms just thinking about it! I won't be on much again until around the 14th (if the park has wi-fi....and then it will be on my husband's lapatop so I won't get much chance to comment...but I will be peeking in! :-) Once I get back to Canada ...19th...I will get hooked back up again! In the meantime keep up the great posts. You are all family to me and it is fun to see what you enjoy in life and to watch you all "grow" in your photography skills and interests.

Take care everyone and get clicking!
Just wanted to let everyone know that sometime tom... (show quote)

It appears the door is locked, were they servicing it? :?:

Ron's parents had books in it when we got it. We had the books for a while that were in it.

I like you cameras too!

I really love seeing the old camera gear that some of you have posted. I have pack ratted a few away myself but none that are significant professional gear. All very nostalgic family stuff. I'll post the take up spools used in each first then the camera's that used them (the 35mm film is just for size reference).

My folks had the "box" camera. I got a 126 when I was maybe 13. Do you remember the Disk cameras from the '80's?Dad had a tin photo, but think my brother got that along with Mom's coffee grinder.

I see a lot of neat stuff in that bookcase! I also like the table with the glass feet!

Have been enjoying everyones antiques when I have had a few minutes to look. Took some pictures of a couple of antiques that we have. The first one is a bookcase that Ron's parents had and the other one is a table that my grandparents had on Mom's side of the family. If I remember the story correctly my grandparents bought the table at an auction sale.

I think a lot of items came from the Montgomery Ward's catalog or Sear & Roebuck's. Pages & Pages of household items that the local store could not provide. Just look at the carvings!

Thanks to everyone who posted some of their treasures! I agree that if we could put them all together in a museum somewhere, we'd have a popular destination site. However, I wouldn't want anyone to part with their antiques, so set them out & enjoy them!

It's been fun looking at all the posts and remembering so many of the items! Again, thanks to Bushido for getting the Challenge up & going Monday early!

Dane will have the next Challenge for us-"Sunny F/16 Camera Presets".

All of those things in the bookcase are not antiques.
