Men and pornography

Did you know, and there is scientific research done on this, that whilst men will watch pornography for an average of about ten minutes, (long enough to get the job done, if you know what I mean), women will watch the whole film. The theory is that women want to see if they get married in the end.

It's true I tell you. I would not make this stuff up.

I don't know many ladies that will admit to watching porn. I find it odd also that if any tear jerking movie that comes on on weekends my wife will watch no matter if the movie has been on for a half hour or ten minutes, unlike me who had rather start from the first

We have a lot more in common than you may think. We all like to watch films that have you reaching for the tissues.

I disagree, I know a lot of women who enjoy not pornography as such but a good sex scene in a movie. As a man I also prefer to see a well scripted sex scene than porn. If any-one hasn't seen it before, I would recommend you watch "Don't Look Now" with Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie, it has what at the time, (1973) the most explicit sex scene in main stream cinema. But in the context of the film entirely justified. Don't just fast forward to the sex scene or you will miss the context.

Just as an aside to that, I am now 57, so I grew up in the 60s. My teenage years were the 70s, but the time I was growing up and learning values was the 60s. At that time, the BBC would not allow any naked female breasts to be shown. This rule had one exception. You won't find this on Google because I don't imagine they're proud of the fact. Any-one got any ideas what that one exception was? I'll give you a couple of days before I tell you.

Wasn't there are a production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," that had breasts? I recall there was a big fuss about it being shown on Public TV. Somewhere during the early 70's.

90% of all statistics are made up. The other 10% is twisted to someone's agenda...

I have noticed my wife and most women can walk into the middle of a conversation and join right in. I don't mean she joins in after a minute of listening. She just starts right in as if she had been there all along. And the other women behave as if she had been there the whole time! I don't know how they know what is going on without having at least listened for at least a few seconds.

They are a wonderment!

And this refers to photography.... how?
Oh, I know, they sit watching with a camera ready to shoot....

I think this should be in the General Chit-Chat section.

Um, yeah. And men are exactly the same in this regard.

Well it's all about the presentation, in a movie i.e. "9 1/2 Weeks" has to be considered a very erotic film vs a pornographic film.
