I use LR and Elements 11. I also have some of the Topaz filters. I shoot with Nikon D7000 and D700. I'm considering the onOne 8 package. Does anyone use it? Pros and cons. Thank you for replys.

Whereas your Topaz Filters can be called from within PSE11, OnOnesoftware Perfect Suite 8 can not. In the 64bit version of CS6, those filters are available under the "File>Automate", but again, NOT in PSE11. OnOnesoftware must be operated from within a 64bit program. Now, that being said, if you own a 64bit operating system (Windows 7 or 8), it will load as a standalone program, and you can manipulate and save your photos from within that program alone. I suspect that OnOnesoftware is positioning themselves to take over from the Photoshop folks who do not want to pay monthly fees to Adobe, but their product falls way short of that goal.

I use it for resizing only. I believe this is the best feature of this software suite.

onOne Perfect Photo Suite 8 has a lot of great features, it can be accessed through both Lightroom and Photoshop, which I have, and and can be used as a stand-alone application. They have a lot of excellent free training videos on line, and for those reasons, I feel it's a real value.

I use OnOne Suite 8 and was using earlier versions before this suite. I like it very much. It works within Lightroom which is my go to program for filing and initial editing. It is true that PP8 is not Photoshop but even though I owned Photoshop for years, I never got proficient at it. My fault no doubt for not spending the time but I just don't want to spend that much time. With the combo of LR and PP8, I am getting virtually all I want. Additionally, PP8 has the best webinars and training info that I have seen from the producer of these type programs. They continually have new webinars which are very helpful in either getting me up to speed or bring me back to where I was and forgot somehow.

I use it for a variety of functions. The masking tool is very good. The Layers functionality allows some great creativity. Although I've not used it, the Resize tool looks efficient. It's a creativity tool that I've found quite intuitive.

When it installs, it will provide "Edit In" links into LR and PS, as well as install as a stand-alone product.

I don't use it for every photo, by any means, but I'd buy it again.

I use it after lightroom 5. Can't beat it. Also Onone has archived all of their training webinars, a good feature because you can always review a feature that you had forgotten. Also all updates are free, as is phone support. If you now work in Photoshop you'll like the ease of doning the same work flow.
Version 9 should include 2 new moduals, printing and noise reduction.

I use it with Elements 10, but find it harder to access and use than Topaz, so I don't use it much.

I use Perfect Suite 8 all the time. I first make adjustments to color, noise, clarity and white balance in Lightroom 5 and then I go to Perfect Layers. From this point I can use masking, Perfect Effect, Portrait and other modules. I think this combination is fantastic. I seldom use Photoshop Elements anymore because I can do most of my work in LR and PS8.

Does the Perfect Suite8 act as a raw file converter the way LR does?

You can access onOne from within the full Photoshop and also from within LR5. I have it, a version or two back, but I rarely use it. onOne does have a nice element for applying those fancy borders to images, but again, I have little use for it.

Perfect Suite is not a alternative for Lightroom. It does not handle files, etc, the way LR does. But the combination of the two programs is very powerful. If you look at PP Suite you will see that in addition to layers, etc, it has a very good portrait program, resize program, black and white program, enhance program which I use after i run through LR, a million special effects, and others. As someone else said, I do not use it on all photos but when I need it, it is very useful.

Now that I look, I think you're correct. But I believe you can click on the "Edit in" selection in the LR5 drop-down menu and get to onOne and, I believe, as is the case when doing this with PSP, when you save the image, it sends a copy back to LR - which does NOT overwrite your original LR image. PSP has a menu box one cal call up which allows access to onOne.

Perfect Suites makes adjustments to your Lightroom photos and then saves them back to LR in the same format that it was transferred to PS8

Oh ok...so it shows up in the slid strip at the bottom of the develop module?
