Just for fun - the photo has not particular merit - but since I sent my son's photo, and mentioned my daughter, who also did a tour in Afghanistan (Cmdr. USN).

A Navy Commander? Isn't that equivalent to an Army or Air Force Brigadier General? !!!!!!

Ha, Ha! A Navy nurse attached to the Marine Corps. Pretty low down on the pecking order even if the pay grade is like a LtCol. Got to admit she's pretty cute though, even if she does have three kids!

Yeah, well, if she's a nurse, she walks on water.
Ask her if she knows CAPT Jeannie Comlish, USN Nurse Corps

This photo touched me very deeply. It made me think of the pin-up photos of the World War II era. How very different this one is, yet even though she's not wearing a bathing suit and high heels, the photo shows her beauty and personality even more. Her courage, too.

Thank you for raising such fine Americans. My wife was an Army nurse during Vietnam, a source of great pride for our family. I applaud your daughter's service.

There is little more meritorious than "Serving ones Country" thanks for posting and for your children.
Please tell them thanks from one great-full Citizen

I don't think either of my kids saw it as meritorious. When Mary volunteered to go, I asked her why do you want to leave your own kids, (4,6 and 9)? She said "Other mother's kids are getting blown to pieces and someone has to take care of them. If not me, then who?" She saw it as her duty as part of the military reserve - a duty as a citizen of her Nation. Nothing special about it. Just like cleaning her room as a kid.

When I was in the Corp and got wounded by nurse was named Ralph. They sure have improved the medical personnel!

I hope she is home safe.

I think that is very meritorious answer in itself and exemplifies the dedication of all the military nurse Corps!

In your next e-mail to her, please express my thanks for her service and sacrifice--especially being away from her kids and husband for a tour!
