I would like some input for dealing with Cametta Camera. A few said there a reputable dealer. I've found something I am considering buying, a camera and lens refurbished. However after reading online reviews there seems to be a lot of people not happy wight he service. The ratings appear to be between 2 and 3 starts on most. I like the price but do not want to get burned.
Any input would be really appreciated.

Thanks,
Maine Guide

I have purchased several items from Cameta Camera, including my DSLR, and experienced excellent customer service. At least for me, they have been wonderful to deal with, and even help me to add and or delete items from their Kit deals, to meet my needs.

I have not personally dealt with them but others on this site have. I have heard good things about them. You can always call them and feel them out on the phone. Most sites sell refurbished equipment with 90 day warranties but I believe Cameta extends Nikon factory refurbished equipment to a year. If you are looking at factory refurbished that generally means the camera originally had a USA warranty and Nikon and Canon will continue to offer repairs on that equipment. Nikon import or grey market cameras typically will not be repaired in a Nikon USA repair center, but I cannot comment on Canon since I only own Nikon DSLR equipment. I am sure others will chime in on Cameta Camera, and I think you will hear of good experiences.

I've purchased new from Cameta twice and also purchased Refurb from them on two occasions. All transactions were excellent -- the refubs (factory refurbs) sure looked new to me and never had an issue with either the new or the refurbs. Would deal with Cameta again anytime without reservations.

I have gotten refurbished cameras and lens from Cameta with no problems. They have always shipped quickly and everything has been as was advertised in their ad. They do take calls if you have questions.

I got a refurbished camera from them everything went very smooth. I called customer service about a problem. they said they would replace it and they would pay postage both ways. the new one came (refurbished) WITH A FULL YEARS WARRANTY.
First dealer I ever heard of doing that.

A majority of my "large purchases" have been made at Cameta. I've always found them to be on par with the other dealers (B&H, Adorama, Berger Brothers, etc.)

Cameta is one of the best camera stores on Long Island . I have purchased many high end cameras and lenses from them and never had a problem of any kind . The sales people are very knowledgeable and go out of their way to answer any questions you might have . If you are a local go and visit them and you will enjoy the experience.

I purchased my first dslr from them, a refurbished Nikon D60 and it was one of the best cameras I've owned. And, I am fairly certain, they are the only store that gives a one year manufacturer's warranty with refurbs. and they are a Nikon authorized dealer. They were and usually are my first choice but last month I bought a Nikon D7100 refurb. from B&H because Cameta was out, and I only got a 90 day manufacturer's warranty with them. Cameta gets my vote.

Cameta Camera is one of the best dealers. I have been dealing with them for years. All my camera purches and lens have been Demo;s No problem at all. Last year I bought a used Nikon D 40 for my grandaughter's birthday, It was like new and she loves it. I got my Demo D 90 there several years ago and not one problem. Theyare nice people to deal with and I highly recommnd them.

I have purchased several items at Cameta Camera over the years and never had a negative experience. Sometimes their prices just can't be beat! They are a good store!
