Yesterday I went to a free Tamron seminar at Samys Camera in Los Angeles. A nice young woman from Minnesota, showing her photos taken with Tamron lenses and talking about how she got the shots. Very nice. Then she said she had been a Nikon shooter for three years but switched to Canon. At the end of the presentation I asked her why she switched. She said that Nikon and Canon treat color differently. Paraphrasing, she said that Nikon sees more blue/green and Canon sees more red/orange, or something like that. Couldn't remember the details.
Has anyone on UHH heard of that before? I never have. Discuss!
You know, I have seen that tendency!
I think the default settings mirror what she said to a certain extent, at least with teh less expensive Canons (xt, xs)
I use Nikon and Canon (and Fuji S5) at work.
Yes they do and in lightroom you can download color profiles for Canon and nikon and apply them to your pictures
I have a Nikon D7000. Had Nikons for many years. I leave the white balance on cloudy, even on flash. This setting gives the images a warmer look because it adds a little red.
This is so deep a question, there could be millions of answers, but look at this site I found, very interesting stuff.
http://dpbestflow.org/camera/sensorWe shoot Canon and one year I bought a Tamron lens. My wife kept asking me what I did to the photo to get the colors like that. Recently, I bought a Sony with a Zeiss lens and it's color is superb.
Hope this helps a little

I agree with jbert; I use Nikon, Canon, Sony, Panasonic, Olympus and Konica and I like the Sony colors the best, Nikon would be my second favorite!

As a very general statement, Nikon tends to be a bit cooler and Canon a bit warmer. But if you use something like the Passport Color Checker to profile your camera, that will tend to lessen a bit of that and of course different lenses have a color as well.
In my case, I end up adjusting the color a bit anyway, so I really don't care. I will make it look the way i want it to look.
But yes, every camera and camera/lens combination has a color.
Many thanks to all for your responses to my question. UHH is a great resource! What is the origin of the name UHH?
