This is an excellent and very sharp night shot. The only thing that I find unusual is the type of lens you used for this shot.

Thanks, I used the 50-500mm to gain access to a couple other views that I wasn't able to reach with a shorter lens and I only wanted to take one lens so I opted to use the 50-500mm

Glad you like it, it was very cold last night down to 23F degrees and frost was starting to form, about 20 degrees below normal.

Thank you for looking and the kind words.

I shoot everything full MANUAL the reason I went with a D800 and D800E is to equal Medium Format and not have to re-envest in lenses for Medium Format, I would still be shooting film if it wasn't for the cost of film and finding local sources to develop and work with for any changes I would like to make, and I don't have the room or time to do my own processing of film.

I like the Sigma 50-500mm but it is a little soft at the low end and high end focal lengths but if one uses a sturdy tripod and cable release, and good techniques the results can be overcome of the minor flaws of that lens.
