My favorite is The Camera Doctor, in Decatur, Georgia. Walking in is like visiting a camera museum and he specializes in repairing and reselling old cameras. Next would be Showcase, over on Lindberg Dr. inside Atlanta city limits. I pick up supplies for my R3000 printer there and I love to look around and dream big. :D

My camera store is 15 miles away in Allentown Pa. Its called Dans Camera City. Ive been dealing with them for 42 years. I used them for all my supplies when I was doing weddings. Sold all my medium format there after I retired. They run all kinds of classes from beginers to advance. They have most anything you need. They have a very well trained staff That can ans any photo question about camers lens or how to take photos of anything night or day. They also have a rental studo with all the lights and back drops you would need. You can rent it by the houre. They not to long ago opened another store in Easton Pa. Ive never been to that one yet. They also run photos tours to interesting places. they bring in famous photographers for programs.

There are no more full service stores in Knox. TN. There is Thompsons Photo ,used to be the go to place, but it is only a shell of what it was. I go there for advice ,which they give freely, but the shelves are bare and they can't order anything . It is sad.

I have two decent camera stores in Chicago (a metropolitan area of over 7 million people), that are still open. Helix and Calumet are gone, as is Shutan. Ritz ans Wolf have combined and there are very few, and carry only Canon, Nikon, Olympus, a few Fujifilm point and shoots, and a few Pentax.
The only two are Central Camera and Dodd Camera. Phototronics is extremely sparsely stocked, and are strictly Nikon keeners. I'm interested in hearing what you all have locally that keeps their doors open, as opposed to B&H, Adorama, etc.; btw, nothing wrong with the latter, just asking about the LOCAL brick and mortar, and your opinions.

In Bucks/Montgomery counties north of Philadelphia we have New York Camera and Video in Southampton and Cardinal Camera in Lansdale (They also have a shop in Allentown). Both are good, associates are nice and friendly. If you're in the area it's worth stopping in.

Cheers,
Tim

None, the brick and mortar shops are all gone.

So far, in two days, there have been 18 pages of responses detailing the existence of 'brick and mortar' Camera shops...yet you say that all of them are gone. Could it be that they are just avoiding you for some reason? Anti-perspirant? Mouthwash? The lack of either?
Be nice.

Forgot about Jack's Camera. My dad worked for Jack's Camera way back when Jack was running it.

I've learned so much from these responses, thank you! Brick and mortar is NOT DEAD, just evolving. I'll gladly pay the tax to keep my GAS habit intact and locally satisfied. :-D

And in 2 days you have attacked the posts of other members with no justification.

That's legacy patronage. Very important. How long ago was this?
