When I lived in Indy, I used Hoosier Camera, is it still there?
I have no idea. Maybe another Hoosier can answer that.
I would say that up here in the Toronto Ontario Canada area the best stores would be either Henry's or Vistex in Toronto and Halton Camera Exchange over in Georgetown [Ontario]

In my area (metro St. Louis), there are (that I know of, anyways) only 2 realistic choices for brick-and-mortar camera stores: Creve Coeur Camera - 7 stores in MO and 3 in IL, the closest one about 10 min from me. IMO they tend to be quite a bit overpriced on several things I have compared, but about the same on others (plus taxes) and Schiller's Camera in St. Louis. Never been there, though. Most of my shopping is done online.
I have had great experience with National Camera in Minnesota.
Murphy's Camera in Lexington, KY. Small shop. Ask for Greg Evans. He's very patient, and he knows his stuff.

I use Murphy's in Clarksville and Louisville.

Never been to either of those. I suspect the Louisville store is the largest.
I have not found the one that I have heard of in Sacramento,CA 75 mi from home- the only true camera store I deal with personal on a one to one basis is:
Keeble & Shuchat Photography!

Keeble & Shuchat Photography 290 S. California Avenue Palo Alto, CA 94306 T: 800.854.8996 F: 650.327.6231
a fantastically large & diverse store- stores on both sides of the street facing each other - but kind of a long drive to shop there 175 mi each way. LOL

In the North Pinellas area of Florida, I like Lake Shore Camera Exchange. Nice, knowledgeable people.

The one on Bardstown is the main one and supposedly has everything. I've never been to it.
Georges camera for new gear and Second Exposure for used gear.these are two of the best in San Diego.
In Denver, Mike's Camera has a camera gear, classes, workshops, and excellent printing facilities.
