My favourite local camera store is "The Camera Store" in Calgary Alberta. I live in Kelowna BC, about 400 miles from Calgary but I still shop at 'The Camera Store'. I visit the store whenever I am in Calgary and order stuff on line when I am not. Best prices, best service, and they know their stuff. Call anytime and the person on the other end of the line knows what you are talking about and can answer questions as if you were standing in front of them. I love it!

That is a GIFT to the true hobbyist! You're lucky to have found them.

Stroudsburg Foto in Stroudsburg PA is an excellent local photography shop for the Pocono Mountain area of northeastern Pennsylvania - only a couple of miles from the Delaware Water Gap bridge on I-80 into n.w. New Jersey.

Glad you mentioned this. AS you can see I only live a short distance from Stroudsburg. Do you know if they do work like downloading new firm ware into a camera. I'm not sure how to do it myself and I sure don't want to mess any up my camera...Rich

I use ProCam in Livonia. I like them, but I don't have anything to compare them to. I've yet to venture further to other stores, although there are a few within a 1/2 hour drive from me.

I'm always nervous about buying online and not being able to see and feel things in person. I'll stick with brick and mortar.

Steve,

Thanks for the compliment. From our perspective it is B&H who is fortunate and most grateful to have you and so many other Hoggers as our customers.

Just a couple weeks ago I bought a Sigma Art series 24-105 from you guys. The local place had it on back-order. I had no problem buying from you instead.

Thank you for your patronage. We have a strong commitment to carry the inventory that the Photo, Video and Pro Audio customer demands and I'm sure you'll agree that as an example, stocking a couple of cartons of the high end Canon and Nikon 800mm tele lenses as B&H does can be an expensive proposition that most retailers are unwilling to make.

Thanks again.
