Lighten the wall half of what you did to make it darker. Then burn in the stones in direct sunlight.

Just thought I would throw these in. They was taken at dusk in an old barn where they dry garlic. We decided to use a flashlight as the source of lighting. I have opened up the shadows a bit in PP in #1 and cropped. #2 has a bit of PP and turned b/w. Unfortunately I lost some detail in the garlic in #2, but an interesting pattern. I love photographing old barns!
#3 was another night of light painting with the photography group. This old tractor made for an interesting subject...and just as nice in colour.

Very dramatic especially #2. Would not change either of them. Well done. You added more on me. All of them are wonderfully done. Would not change them at all.

I love the second one in this set it is so crispy and clean looking. I have always liked black and white and that is a really nice example

Wow....what a challenge Bushido! I would love to individually comment on yours, Sher's, Pat's, RR, Dan's.....and all others that have already posted. They are fantastic and have given me inspiration.

Once you changed your subject Bushido, and a good one it is, I did some research on Walker Evans. But I am a slow study and could not get it together until I saw all the wonderful work and postings on this challenge.

Went out today to shoot.....and am very disappointed to find I shot using an ISO 400 on a sunny (and quite cool I might add) day :-( :hunf: ; but I did work on some of the shots and will post. The last two are ISO 200.....lol...(after the discovery of the prior high ISO). I shot all of my images in black and white....a first for me.

My first thought was to shoot the house where my husband and our family lived from 1970 to 1993. We remodeled the interior and replaced windows and siding. I recently drove by our old home and...WOW....some great exterior transformations. The owners have replaced windows to date the age of the house and are in progress of adding a beautiful porch. We know the house originally had a porch but was not on the house when we purchased....I love this new look and am somewhat envious of this beautiful new porch and look to what was once our home.

pg 26 - I am almost without superlatives/speechless looking at everyone's work.
What a talented bunch - and I have learnt so much from you all with these challenges.
I especially like this one Bushido and must try doing B&W more often - it can give a completely different feel to shots.

Yes, B&W has it's place. Some times a shot just cries out to be color and some just has to be in B&W. You have a company over there (Great Britain) called Ilford. They still make B&W print paper and if you want to see the most beautiful B&W images have them printed on there paper by their lab. You can upload the digital images to them and they will print form them. It is more expensive than color because the paper uses silver gelatin as one of its components. If you have one of your best prints done even if it is small you will see why I love B&W.

Wonderful JJ. Just a touch more burn on the rocks to tone them down and you will have a great pic.
