I saw something on our news cast about the black birds taking over some small town. I can't remember the state but the people have to use umbrellas to move about at dusk when the birds are settling down for the night. They said the stench and noise is terrible. I couldn't imagine.

Here in Colorado we get VERY large flocks of Starlings. They fly in unison so is very interesting to watch. I had a Mamma Starling take over my gas grill outside and she had 5 eggs. All hatched buy only 4 lived. I did some research on line and it said they were a very destructive bird and that you should destroy the nest. I just couldn't do it.

I saw that movie in a theater that had a balcony when movies were less than a dollar on Sat. afternoons. They were in technicolor back then.

I saw the same television segment. The town you saw on TV due to the very large number of starlings was La Grange, Kentucky about 20 miles north of Louisville.

In the past couple of weeks, I have also seen huge flocks of birds at about 7:30 AM (sunrise time). I am not a bird person, so I don't know what they are, but it does look like something out of "The Birds" to see hundreds and hundreds of birds flying over! Going to make sure the camera is ready for the next few mornings and maybe I will see them again.
