My avatar would fall in the " gunslinger " category. I built the bass and it takes me to many different forums. My pose is copied from a young, Argentine,1/2 size double bass player's photo on a rock-a-billy forum. The thread was titled " Show Us Tour Bass Face ".

Did you really build the bass from scratch? If so, it's a heck of a job! Congrats!!!

Taken at an Old Time Photo Parlor in Gatlinburg Tennessee in 2007. I walked in and said "make me an old time gunslinger", 30 minutes later the boys and I were robbing the noon Wells Fargo stage coach. Part of our haul is on the counter behind me. I polished off the 1/2 gallon of JD, changed back into street clothes and went home. Man...what a great vacation.

Oh P.s. I'm a good story teller too!

I think it looks great. Years ago my two sisters and I did an old time photo shot for my mother for mother's day. We did the hooker thing. All kinds of fun, dressing my 8 year old sister up as a "ho". :O)

Mine is my all time favorite of a skinnier me and my once in a lifetime, never have another like him Ghost. He was my buddy. Saw him at a horse camp and fell in love. His owner at the time made a mistake and hung a high enough price on him that they thought I'd back off. Wrong...we only had seven years together before I lost him in 2000 to colic. But the good times we had...

Thanks cheineck, I'm a keen amateur acoustic luthier and a semi pro electric fiddle and electric double bass luthier.

My website needs a bit of updating and housekeeping. All the site photos were taken with an Olympus Camedia. I've just upgraded to a Nikon Coolpix. That's why I'm here, to get better photos of the instruments.

The late Ayrton Senna.

Shot at the 89 Adelaide GP with a Nikon FM manual
film camera. The digital image is a scan of the colour negative...
turned positive.

Mine is my Grandpa Rollie on his new Farmall Regular that he bought in 1927. Up until then they had used all horse power. He never bought another as Oklahoma settled over their farm in South Dakota in the form of the Dust Bowl. He sold out 1933 and moved to Sioux City to become a house painter and builder.

Thanks again cheineck, it pays for itself and keeps me in beer money.

That does qualify you as a "semi" professional. A true professional would have enough left over for chips with the beer but, unfortunately, not much more.

Those are mighty fine looking instruments. I'm about as musical as a brick, but sure like seeing fine woodwork.
