Cactus in the Sky

While out in a local park I was captivated by the high, thin, swirling clouds. Since our desert cactus are always a favorite subject I tried to connect the two.

Can't decide which of these two I like the best. Your opinion of each...or both would be appreciated.

Dave
PS: I should probably add, they are both straight from the camera. The first one is -1/3 EC.

Wow, not even a negative comment. Didn't think they were quite that bad!

I like both of 'em but think #2 connects with the sky a little better because of being slightly more lit.

Miss Stephie & wrr,

Thanks at least for looking. And wrr, I kind of like #2 better as well.

I also like cactus shots. Something I want to do is to go around my community and take some cactus photos before it starts getting to warm.

Early mornings, even in the summer, gives better light. These spiney things are interesting, and different, the year round.

I've never seen clouds like that; good eye for connecting the sky with the cacti. I think I agree that #2 is better; more detail in the cacti. Maybe you can postprocess and get more cacti detail!!

Hi Dave...

Good thought to connect them. But you only shot twice? That would only be the first thought. There was room for a lot of thoughts! Time to let the subject grow...

Think back now, mull what you could have done or would do...so the next time you have that kind of thought you'll be ready to expand on it...

Actually T, I shot a number of images. I saved the best two and dumped (deleted) the rest.
