Actually I thought it was Bill Clinton that only did head shots, but I could be mistaken.

Surely there must be at least one out there among us who sees this episode as a direct result of Democratic mismanagement or the evils of Obamacare. Let the silliness begin.

Are you certain that Al Gore didn't invent it?

Oh boy this thread is headed for it. Where I just don't know.

Is that what is known as a cat scan?

The first dog we brought into our home was probably the smartest one we've had. She clearly understood more of the English language than other dogs we've had since.

If you said the word "cat" she would run to the window and look all around, clearly doing a cat scan. This even happened once when I told my wife that my mother was having a CAT scan.

I keep seeing posts concerning which brand to buy. While I think both are good and have advantages and disadvantages, I would like to share my story that compelled me to choose one over the other....

My neighbors wife received a Canon a few years ago as a gift. They tend to not tak care of their property. She has friends that share lenses and suggested that I buy a Canon and join the group. Shortly after that I saw that she left her bag open and the cats used her camera bag as a litter box...that is when I chose Nikon...several years down the road, I am still glad I chose Nikon

I do NOT share my Canon lenses with anyone. Even if I had Nikon lenses--------absolutely NOT!!

hilarious. Nikon or canon .. both are great. The story of your neighbor is pretty amazing. When folks ask me to do group events like that, I usually make a big joke about how I am way too OCD and controlling and it would be torture for everyone else to have me in the group. I do it with a big smile and make everyone laugh and then there are no hurt feelings .. just relief on all sides.

Over the years I have owned both brands starting in film up to current digital. I don't have a preference of one over the other as I have had good luck with both. When I purchased my current camera (Nikon) it happened to be a better deal at the time and no other reason. I like the jokes about one brand over the other but some on this forum get down right silly/inmature when this subject comes up. 8-)

Chris, welcome to the Hog. I guess if that reason was compelling for you, hey, it's your choice. My cats love sleeping on top of my camera bag. If they pooped in the camera bag, shame on me for leaving the door open, and the bag open as well. But I, 1, would certainly not hold it against my cats, nor 2, would I change brands.
So let me tell you very briefly why I shot a Canon.
When I started I wanted a Nikon, but was using a hand-me-down Canon 20d.
So I was shooting sports and nature, and trying to do some portraits. I had been researching the Nikon d200 that I wanted and knew all the lenses. So I took a look at Canon, just in case, since so many seemed to use it, they couldn't all be wrong.
I found out that for portraits, the Canon guys were using 85mm f1.2 lenses. And the Nikon long lenses didn't even have VR and were really heavy, and the focus motors made sooo much noise, you'd be lucky to even get a shot.
But my dream lens was a 200mm f1.8 for indoor sports.
Chris, I'm not a rocket scientist like you when it comes to picking cameras, as I actually had to do my homework. But when my cat sleeps on top of my 200 f1.8, it's actually ok, as the lens trunk is sealed.
I just hope that someday you too will have the oportunity to use those lenses as well, but it's not likely to happen till you go back to the poopy brand. Just the way it is! Have fun with your Nikon. ;-)

Chris, welcome to the Hog. I guess if that reason ... (show quote)

My Dear SS......me thinketh thou have missed the humor and intent of Chris' thread. Yes, we all know you are a die-hard-Canon-Fanboy. And that's OK. But this was clearly meant as light-hearted fun.
