Just got my 100-400 back from canon after sending it for repair. Fell down while hiking and damaged me and lens. These are the first shots taken in my backyard. Comments welcome.
Looks like it's fixed! Nice shots!

I am pleased. Thanks for looking.
Just out of interest, how badly was the lens damaged and what did they charge for the repair?
The heck with the lens how did you fair? The lens looks like it will shoot and capture a shot again.
I'd say they did a good job. So did you with your photos!

The white sleeve at the end of the lens with printing "100-400
1:4.5-5.6" had minor dents. It the only rock in the entire field. My body was worse for wear because I sacrificed my body to try and save the lens. Any ,Canon charged $350.00 and it took 10 days. The reason I had it done was I was getting inconsistent results. Soft images, focusing noises , stiff pulling lens in and out. Seems fnie now.

Landed on shoulder and my head hit the ground hard. I was trying to hold the lens in the air but it hit the only rock in the whole field. I was ok,no serious damage. Really mad though. Thanks for asking.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you are both okay now.

Looks like they got it right and you too! I am waiting for my 70-200 back from Sigma for the same oops. My new knees just aren't all the way stable yet. I have to be ever vigilant when I'm backing up.

This getting old stuff sucks.
Nice job. On picture #1 the poor bird on the right is hard to discern, the two on the right are lovely. I love the second capture.
My friend has that lens and gets some great photos with it. Yours came out pretty good...so it looks like the Canon fixed it for you.
