Very typical of EGO maniacs/people without conscience. They ALWAYS ignore the questions that would bring them back to reality and never admit to anything. It is always the other person in their head.

Interesting lay psychoanalysis. Actually "egomaniac" does not describe a person without conscious; in lay terms, that would be a "sociopath" - two terms which, while not mutually exclusive, are not generally coincidental disorders. Sociopathy, for those who watch television, is actually an usupported term referring to ASPD manifested in behavior that is low in impulse control, fear of consequences, empathy and regard for authority. Actually such persons seldom blame others for their behavior and are highly self-confident, especially in their sense of self-righteousness. No, Rob may not be completely compliant with the norms that society lays down for sanity, but few of us are (I know I'm not!). The fact that he is more articulate in his pronouncements, however, does make him a formidable opponent.

I didn't say that it was the same thing - but he is most def, one of those. But all sociopaths have huge egos, we can agree on that yes?

In any case, we must not be reading the same books on personality disorders. I don't know what you mean about watching tv shows.

The only place you hear about "sociopaths" any more is on television. Nobody would know what the good guys mean if they said a bad guy had ASPD. And you are probably correct in that we don't read the same books on personality disorders. Actually I seldom read complete books anymore; too many are a rehash of previously published tomes or "textbooks" which have little relevance in practice. Most of my information comes from comprehensive controlled studies as published in trade magazines.

Sorry, I don't watch those tv shows. I prefer books to learn from.

did we ever actually answer this question? Can this forum produce unbiased constructive criticism on a submitted photo!

Actually, no.

Probably because for those involved it's too abrasive a question to face.

Those few who participate are too close to see what it has become.

If I must spell it out to those who can't get past their desperate need to put me down personally I will firstly ask if there is any doubt that I shy away from voicing opinion?

The notion that I am "hiding" behind a story is ridiculous.

I passed on this observation as an example of how an outsider did so readily conclude that a forum which by its title promised useful solutions to problems with technique was in effect of little more value than novice subjective opinion.

I have tried to provide an avenue by which members could express their thoughts and there was sufficient response to warrant some sort of affirmative action by the critique section operators.

It instead appears that they consider that denial or to pass the blame onto a lack of blind support for the section and its operators will suffice.

It is a sad reality that nothing will likely change unless there is a rethink regarding the purpose of the section.

If it is to remain to be a platform for peer approval then fine, but surely it should be called something else.

It should be clearly evident by now that people who can provide sound advice have stayed away for reasons not nearly the least of which is exposure to personal criticism, and criticism of their credentials and ability from people who clearly possess little of either themselves.

That there exists the conflict of posters asking for help with what experienced photographers deal with as a matter of course, then those same people speaking with such critical authority even almost in the same breath, is most perplexing.

Rob.

With the proper people providing comments, it can. Yours, however, are unique in that they are direct and specific. There are a few people on the forum who are capable of such objective comments, but few of them choose to engage in the critique of what are all too often mediocre images because they don't to be bothered with cruel comments about critique that should be brutally honest. I'm not a good photographer, so why waste your time? And I don't want a critique of my work to hinge on whether or not the critic likes me!

If I can get a word in edgewise, yes much better. I'll actually be able to sleep tonite without waking up in cold sweats! And if I may add, a very fine example of photography, in case anybody wants to critique it. Exemplary use of analogous colors and leading lines. Definately a strong point of interest. ;-)

Sorry, it's a bit of a toss-up but that is probably your weakest insult yet.

You are obviously running out of ideas.

Common amongst Bogans, I am told.

Why not try repeating yourself, that's what the other resident pests always default to.

You really must be an insecure person to call someone a pest.

BTW, you are also "repeating" your shtick. Over and over, the same BS. And you think you are better? :-D

Sorry, that's no improvement. Maybe you and Mr. Bogan should pool your intellect and I'll try to make sense of your dribble.

Among or amongst.
Among is the earlier word of this pair: according to the Oxford English Dictionary, it first appeared in Old English. The variant form, amongst, is a later development, coming along in the Middle English period. With regard to their meanings, there’s no difference between among and amongst. They’re both prepositions which mean:

situated in the middle of a group of people or things:

belonging to or happening within a group:

I was amongst the last to leave.

indicating a division or choice between three or more people or things:

You, christofras, are so damn easy to shoot down in flames it is almost frightening!

Idiot.
