Nikon vs. Canon...AGAIN

I keep seeing posts concerning which brand to buy. While I think both are good and have advantages and disadvantages, I would like to share my story that compelled me to choose one over the other....

My neighbors wife received a Canon a few years ago as a gift. They tend to not tak care of their property. She has friends that share lenses and suggested that I buy a Canon and join the group. Shortly after that I saw that she left her bag open and the cats used her camera bag as a litter box...that is when I chose Nikon...several years down the road, I am still glad I chose Nikon

I think he is saying that either he didnt want cat poop in his lens, or Cats are better decision makers.

Perhaps I missed the logic of comparing specifications, capabilities and price, versus some slob who has no regard for their gear.
I have 2 cats and they would be interstellar pussies if they got in my camera bag for any reason. Then again my camera gear is not available to them. I have a closet.

As for better decision makers, perhaps. Tough to take a cue from an animal that licks it's butt though.

I agree with Erv.

As a wise woman once said, "It ain't the meat, it's the motion!"

The point is/was that, and this has been said a lot on this forum, it's isn't just about the camera but who is behind it. If you can't compose your way out of a paper bag, the most expensive camera in the world will do you no good.

As far as the hot dog goes, the quote I plagiarized was from a song by Maria Muldaur and she was most assuredly making a reference to a particular part of the male anatomy. I think the parallel still applies because there are folks on this forum who have bigger and better equipment but anyone with at least one eye would also agree that there is an abundance of talent to back up the gear. One only has to look...
