Pictorial evidence that war is, indeed, hell. A very tragic time captured by the quintessential war photog, Horst Faas.

Glad you all liked them. Yes, photographers had to be brave to go into battle with nothing but a camera. A few months ago I saw a special on TV about the photographers of the Vietnam war and they interviewed photographers from both sides. It was also interesting how the photographers from the other side had to make due with cameras, film and lighting that were inferior to our photographers. Sometimes they would use gunpowder as a source of light in the tunnels they occupied to create the necessary light to get the shot. They just pried off the bullet projectile and emptied 10 or 20 shells into a pile on the floor, lit it with a match and took the shot as the powder lit up the tunnel.

Lost so many good folks, on all sides. I've often wondered what happened to many of the one-time friends I had in S. Vietnam. Bitter time; life-altering.

Great images, they bring back many memories. Image 27 was where I was stationed in 1970.

That brought back more memories than I wanted.:) We wore the phase out!!!! Never want to be able to say it ever again. I was over there for almost 7 years. fascinating pictures? Maybe? But I think they are eye opening shots of what war is! I hope a lot of folks take a good look at what we went through!!! Semper Fi!!!!!
