Brings back memories. I want to go back there again...it's been 14 years.

This is a pic of burning sugar cane in Maui from my son's front porch. He lives in Kula
I had heard they generally burn at night, from a helicopter pilot. Nice view of the west part of Maui. I think Kihei is near your sons place.

Thanks Zipper,
Yes Kihei is kind of near my son's although he is at 3500 ft above sea level. We are going to see him in July, and staying in Kihei at the Kihei Kai, kind of a smaller place but affordable. I have seen pics of it that Josh sent and looks ok , it's not the Grand Wailea but it is on the beach. We live on Oahu awhile back for a year on the beach in Waimanalo and it was really great. Now I am just gratefull to get back due to health and $ reasons. Want to go to Mommas Fish House for som Ahi !
I wanted to go to Mama's fish house. We passed it on the way back from Hana. Looked like a great place. Loved the Iao needle park area in from Kahului.

Great pic! This is near Kahalui?
Yes it is, from the IAO Valley, looking towards Kahului.
I'll see if I have another below.
