I see how to move files from one folder to another in the Library Module by selecting the file and just holding the left mouse button to slide the file to a new location. How do you Copy from one folder to another?

If Lightroom works like other software, hold down Ctrl key as you slide the selected file.

LR does not seem to want to copy files to different folders, only move them. The only way I have found is to copy the file across using the operating system, then "Synchronize Folder ..." the target folder in LR. The copied file will then show up in the new destination folder and still be in the source folder

Why do you want multiple copies of the same image in LR?

Knowing why you want to do this will lead to an appropriate answer. Remember that the photos do not physically exist in LR. They exist only in the world of the operating system and hardware. LR only remembers where they are. I believe that you can have a single physical file/photo exist in more than one LR collection. Would this help you?

You nailed it. I was going to say about the same thing. LR does not keep copies of any of the photos, just remembers where they are, and what changes you applied.

Moving photos from folder to folder will only create a HUGE mess, that's what I've been dealing with in trying to "fix" some issues. Finally, I realized it is better to just leave them where they are and just make new collections with different photos to make them easier to find. That, and I'm no longer as lazy about keywords, which REALLY makes it easier to find photos.
