Do you think the hollow effect did any justice to this pix

I cut the top off when I zoomed out. Had to do it quick I was on a small boat.

Image one gets my vote. Since it's a tall ship, the first photo giver the impression of looking through one of those hand-held telescopes (forget what they are called) that everyone had back in the days of the tall ships.

Both pictures are interesting with good composure! I go for the first one; since it gives a portrait of the ship itself without any other conflicting items. The second one has a building in it that splits one's attention away from the ship.

I think the first one is nicer. Gives a view like looking through a ships glass.

Not fair - - different shots, different backgrounds.
First shot - boat is loaded with people and has trees in background.
Second shot - clean decks and shot more from the broadside which puts the 'ugly building' in the background.
.
Not sure I like the stark 'Spyglass' effect - however shot #1's composition using a progressive radial blur might be interesting??

Thats what I like about this Forum, I thought my mind was clear on one shot,Then it was changed again! To Tell the truth,I really liked the effect of #1. It brought out the "subject" of what I was shooting. Thanks for the feed back.
