Perhaps this is what is in mind:

Q: How do you light a piano?

A: You don't. You light the big white cards AROUND the piano. Only in this mode can you get exquisite detail.

This is an example where INCIDENT light is best.

Maybe the OP is trying to be sarcastic and believes that most of the questions raised and discussed in UHH are not related to photography. Rather they tend to ask questions like: What camera/lens should I buy? How to I do X? Nikon or Canon? In other words, questions about camera gear and not photography.

I think they'd better include the "piano finish" part in the copy text - those photos look pretty flat... or maybe just Digimarc'd ;-)

"Photography": the art, science and practice of creating images recorded by light.

"Camera gear": the equipment used to create photographic images.

I'm only trying to figure out what the OP meant. I'm by no means suggesting there is a difference.
