Had a class do this. REALLY IMPORTANT...use in dust free area. Interesting results...kinda like the old "monkey cam".

The only way this could happen is with a very large camera underwater. :D

I'm sure JR1 is using an anagram when he writes "Carp".

Let 'carp' into the camera body?! Sounds fishy to me. Do you proofread yourself before hitting the send button? Or did you really mean carp and not crap?

I think this would also invalidate the cameras warranty if water entered the camera body

Look this up:

LensBaby

It does "freelancing" right.

1. free-lensing,it's not the same thing
2. a good reason to try this:experimenting. but not with your standard lens! try old lenses of film cameras, especially MF or LF,they give you better coverage, meaning more movement possibility.

Ok, this is pretty far out there, but for what its worth: has anyone experimented with "free lensing". It's the photographic equivalent of free climbing, you disconnect the lens from your SLR and manually position it at angles

here's a video:

You can quickly achieve the same effects with Photoshop so why risk the camera for generally silly pix?

Sort of reminds me of a night in Alongapo in the late '60's. If you don't know where or what Alongapo is then this isn't a funny observation...don't ask...

Elie, welcome to the Hog. Good to see someone getting experimental. I have a lens you would like. It's two round cardboard tubes that telescope in and out of each other for focus. It has a body cap with a hole in it on the rear to be able to mount it, and a 3" magnifying glass for an optic that came from the 99 cent store hot melted on the other. I've also adorned the front end with the obligatory RedRing to fool the anal. I'm sure it pumps dirt worse than the Canon 100-400 (which I also have). But that's why God created shovels, so I can clean the inside of the camera once in a while.
But it take some really great fotos, complete with flare and all. Much softer than a Holga. Elie, if you enjoyed freelensing, you would love one of these. You should build one. Let me know if you need help with one.
Happy shooting

sharpshooter, thanks for the welcome!
yes, i like to experiment between serious shooting sessions, that's what make us progress, not the perfection seeking of digital manipulations. well, that's what i personnally believe, with 50 years of doing film photo.

Just tried this for the 1st time last night. Used my old Olympus E-520 and a Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens from film camera. Used indoors with poor lighting but I definitely like the effect.
