I am enjoying looking at everyones Alaska photos! nice work everyone!
Just an observation after seeing the images we've all posted so far--there are as many with low clouds and mists as there are with blue skies. Alaska's weather is pretty much a mixed bag from day to day--like most of the Pacific Northwest! Those who had sunny days were quite blessed. :D

Sadly, very true, especially in the panhandle and at/near Denali NP. So many folks visit the park and leave without ever seeing Mt. McKinley/Denali.
Mount Roberts that is. Been there!

Oops! Getting Mount Roberts mixed up with Mount Rogers in Glacier Park, British Columbia. Good catch, Slick50il.
When I was up there they had eagle there with one shot out. Said they would have to keep it forever with only one eye it would not survive? Sad!
The day we went to the Raptor Center, where injured eagles and other hawks are nurtured back to health, we happened to be there on a day when they released an eagle. The bird was found floundering in the surf. A woman was driving by and saw a young eagle in the surf. She wrapped it in her jacket, put it in her car and wrapped the seatbelt around it as she took it to the Center. Hence the bird's name, Seatbelt.
I wish we could post video here because I have a great sequence I shot as the bird was released and flew back to the wild. It was an experience I'll remember for the rest of my days.
this is a very inspiring thread. Of all the places we want to see, Alaska is top of the list. About the images, I love the hazy fogs and clouds, and those bear images are killer! Post more of these if you can!!
