I'm new to this forum. I'm a fairly new agent in the Carolina's and would like to know what lenses would produce the best photos for our MLS and other third party sites. I use a Nikon 5100 and already own a variety of lenses but will purchase another if there is anyone out there who has experience with real estate photos. Thanks!
Welcome! I used to take photos for real estate agents. Used a wide angle to get the home interiors, around 28 mm. Probably 25 mm would be even better. I have a Canon, but I'd think a zoom in the wide to medium range would suit you well.

A good wide-angle - on my crop-sensor Canon 70D is my 10-22: it provides a wonderful range. I also notice some progressive real estate agents I see are now using HDR in their photography to really highlight the interiors and eliminate shadows. This also allows photos that show both interior features and the outdoor yard, pool, etc at the same time. I am shocked at how many agents submit horrible photos with their internet listings,

I have a Nikon D300s and use a Tokina 11-16mm. Does a nice job.
Thanks. I agree. I don't want to be the agent with the horrible pics!!
I have a NEX 5n, am struggling with interior shots. Decided the flash is inadequate, am shopping for a better flash with variable settings. Suggestions welcome.
As a fellow agent, for high end properties I am now using a professional do do my interiors. In the sample below, he set up remote flashes in all three rooms, balanced them, and produced terrific photos. Since replacing my own photos(which weren't all that bad)with his, I have had 5 showings the first week. Go figure, and good luck.
Remember, dear readers, and suggestions for an affordable remote for my NEX would be appreciated.

Bob I'm not sure about the NEX brand...but maybe look into a remote trigger and a few flash's. I took this shot with the same camera/lens...only with 2 off camera SB910 flash's and a SU800 commander module. Some tile work I did in a kitchen last year.

Thanks! Told you I was new!!
12mm lens on a full frame camera can make a house trailer look like a mansion.
Check out serge ramelli for some great techniques on interior design photos for real estate.

WOW! You get what you pay for - this is an example of a photo that will sell this home! It is beautiful and very inviting! Very, very nicely done. When is the open house? What is the asking price? It makes me want to move!
