looking for suggestions on how to carry a camera and 70-200mm lens on a motorcycle. I'm hoping for near instant access, maybe something that holds it tightly against my chest. I really don't want to deal with a backpack if I don't have to. Thanks, Troy

You might try a binocular harness. They keep binos pretty solid against the chest, but give immediate access. Available at any major sporting goods store, ie. Cabelas, Sportsman's Warehouse, Bass Pro.

From an experienced biker, I'd use a tank bag, with plenty of padding. This way it's close and easy access and not hanging off your neck or shoulders where it could shift on you. And will pickup road debris.

Like others said, a well padded tank pad or tail trunk. I have used the tail trunk with my Goldwing, but you do have to stop & get off to access the camera.
I wouldn't strap it to your body. If you ever have a unplanned get off, it is very lightly the camera will give you serious injury when you land on it.
