Which brings to the mind the question; do those that believe accept the notiion that they are only that, or are they convinced that they along with their kit & kin actually know "the truth", and it is the rest of society that fails to see. For example those that deny the Holocast, the earth is not flat, or Elvis is in fact dead - do they think that those agree know the truth and others are living a lie or accepting a conspiracy? Either way always glad o hear some fresh ones - the old ones are getting, oh I don't know rather rancid.

Bmac, My wife is from the island, where her cousins still live, and I was astounded at what there property taxes were. Double what I pay and I have 3 times the house size and 20 acres to go with it.

Yeah, tell me about it. No one even talks about or tries to get taxes lowered around here anymore. The best that's done is to put 'caps' on how much they can be raised. It's a shame, many people who pay off their mortgage have to move out of the area anyway due to high property taxes. Oh well, thanks for tolerating my venting whoever is reading. 8-)

All they need to do is write a check to the General Fund and send it to Washington, DC. And watch what happens when their accountant calls them in and says, "I have great news. Suffolk county 900 bucks property tax a MONTH, Hell I hads 27 acres, 4 bedroom house, 2 wells, a garage and a shop in NH I paid 125 a month in property tax.
no wonder people are fleeing the island.
And when I can retire it sure wont be on this sand bar
