As I began to post these pictures, I realized that this was a combination of the challenge for yesterday and today. Meet my small town, Covington, GA, where the focal point of the quaint square is our Newton County Courthouse. Here are some angles and views I took in September, and a few night shots that I attempted this month. Our town has been used in the filming of many Hollywood films and TV series such as "The Dukes of Hazzard," "In the Heat of the Night," and our current claim to fame is "The Vampire Diaries." They recently shot a movie with Kevin Bacon and Robert Duvall, but I don't know what the name of it will be. Covington is about 35 miles from Atlanta, GA, and a wonderful place to live!

Thank you so much! National Geographic?? Well I'll waite for them to call LOL. Loved your shots of the falls, Ive never been there or knew that they had a tour boat that went down below. It would be a fun trip.

Glen, visit the Nat. Geographic website. There is a place to submit shots - and it doesn't sound intimidating. I'd send the one you posted today. Am thinking about sending a couple too. "Search" National Geographic on UHH. There was thread a while back about doing just that.

Love this! I really admire street photography. Think I'm a bit "shy" about pointing a lens in the direction of people.

Believe it or not Pat most people really don't mind at all.

I'll be trying it.

I didn't know you had been in a dispute - shame on you girl - don'cha know you gotta behave yourself - the children are watching - lol - pretty cool that he responded so kindly!

I try to never get into disputes but some people just won't let things go ... and I don't like it when they tell others what they are doing is wrong ... it's all artistic vision afterall.

You are so right. I hate seeing comments on UHH where people say "boring - doesn't do anything for me - it's just a snapshot" things like that. It isn't helpful and it isn't kind. Thankfully nobody in your daily challenge is like that. Critique is fine but saying things that are not helpful or things that border on rude is not. I was teasing you about the children watching. But they are you know - lol[/quote]

don't I know that posted one asking how to make something better, one person was kind the other well not so nice

Very nice shots catgirl!! (Pg 26)
San Francisco certainly is a beautiful place. Beautiful architecture!! I love the white apartment building!! I wonder if it costs as much to live there as it looks???

hi Skip T, everyone seems to like the white apt building thinking next time I am there I need to go and find out about it, just remember it was close to the Fairmont Hotel as I was walking about waiting for my ride to airport later on that afternoon
