I was visiting the park for two days, but I am still wading through the editing process.
I have posted these to illustrate what you see through the camera, compared to what you want to emphasize by changing the lighting.
On some of the images, I was struggling with the last couple of hours of light. The cloud cover came in, so it stripped the ground (rocks, boulders, vegetation) from adequate lighting. The sky, on the other hand, was stupendous. What to do. Here are some examples of using fill flash, post-processing the foreground to add light, and just leaving the image strongly backlit and let the sky take over.
I wish I had more time to spend there as I only had two full days. I just love the desert.
I hope you find one you can enjoy.
This is a before shot of one that I just post-processed some lighting to the foreground.

Here is one I added fill flash to illuminate the barrel cactus.

Absolutely stunning images, Bozsik - AGAIN! Your love of the area's beauty is highly evident.
Those clouds are amazing.
And thanks for explaining what you did to enhance each. All just wonderful.

Thanks Erv. And Linda, I thought it would be helpful for individuals on this site to know what I was thinking and how I tried to achieve it. I was an advertising photographer for JC Penny Co years ago. Using lights and lighting for every imaginable surface, color, and texture, was a great lesson learned to take into the field.
Post processing via a computer instead of the many hours in the darkroom is like being in heaven.

Stunning set, David. The contrasting landscape against the sky is 'wow', as are the cloud formations.
