Well Folks, Treepusher was right. It was only a matter of time before my bird feeding site would be invaded by squirrels. This little fella was about 25 feet away, shot in Auto, widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio at about 800mm. Processed in PSE10 with Topaz Adjust.

Yea, my wife mentioned I should put out some food for them. So far I've yet to do that.

They do have a way of finding bird seed. Just be sure they stay out of your house.

I like to watch them running away playing, jumping from branch to branch.

I'm still learning the characteristics of this camera and lens Earl. I've learned there is some distance needed to get the background blurred. Up to close and everything tends to be in focus.

They are excellent acrobats, I'm amazed by that too Jerry. I've seen them take off in a fast run across a branch only to leap a few feet into another tree. If they missed...could be a rough landing.

Oh no...fleas, my cats won't like that. Better not let them walk around in this area then.

James, take it from someone with a LOT of experience; if you start feeding squirrels, the ONLY thing that will happen is you'll get MORE squirrels. :(

And the food on the ground WILL NOT stop the little buggers from trying for your bird seed in he feeders.

You can grease the poles of the shepherds hooks, AND buy a wide wrap-around squirrel baffle to solve the problem. As long as those varmints don't have something that they can jump from to the feeder, your seed SHOULD be safe.

GOOD LUCK!
