A beautiful portrait of a beautiful young lady.
However I feel the lamp is distracting as it is not illuminating any part of the image, the ambient light is brighter than the lamp. fa No of the (ear)one would take an oil lamp outdoors and place it on the ground in the grass, a lantern would fit better , not as pretty but believable. also for a lantern to (work) IMHO it would have to be to the girls right and the back ground would have to be much darker.

Lovely portrait. A photograph like this makes it all worthwhile. :)
Sorry. I guess he didn't ask for a critique so this was my error. However I disagree about what a critique is. A critique offers suggestions for improvement. "Wow! I like it." may be our reaction but it isn't a critique. Why you liked the photo is a critique. Critiques are how we improve our photographs. What's the purpose of the photograph? Does its composition work? Is what draws the focus when first looked at what the photographer intended to draw the viewers focus? There are also technical areas, etc. I realize a lot of what may be critiqued may be personal preference, but it gives us something to think about and consider as we try to make better pictures. Photographer Rick Moore put it very well, "There seems to be a general perception that "critique" means "to find fault with." It doesn't mean that at all. It means to critically analyze and respond to something, either positively or negatively, or both. Even when someone holds a camera in their hands for the first time, they have a lifetime of experience processing visual imagery. The success of an image in someone's eyes is how is works for them!"
Nicely done! I really like the softness here.
