After many years of taking pictures with various point and shoot cameras my wife and I decided for our 49th anniversary to buy new camera equipment, Nikon D5200 with Nikon 28-55 and 55-200 lens'. Many years ago when our children were small we had a Leica 35mm film camera and had gotten pretty proficient with it. The Leica along with most of our other camera gear was stolen during one of our many moves as a result of a 26 year career in the Army.

The new camera is due to be delivered today (2/19/2014) so to say we are anxious would be a gross understatement. :D

That's MY camera and I love it! Welcome. Here's a couple of links to some of the pics I've gotten over the last year with it, some are HDR, which requires some computer tricks. Hope you enjoy them and feel free to PM (private message) me with any questions about your gear.

Thanks Dennis, I've got to admit my tours in Vietnam didn't seem like they could be looked at as service. Heck, the Army gave me a helicopter gunship to fly, all the ammunition I shoot and free fire zones all over the place.

Thanks for the welcome and to tell you the truth, I have gotten frustrated a couple of times already and haven't even taken my first photo yet.

Well it will come back soon enough I suppose and it is very reassuring to know this forum is here with lots of help available.

Again, thanks for the welcome.

Welcome to UHH Will. Hope your camera arrived on time. I also shoot Nikon, the D7100. Get out there and run that shutter count up. Enjoy the forum.

Thanks for the welcome Don. The camera did arrive and I have been reading away and fiddling with all the dials, buttons, and such. Haven't taken one photo yet but we are headed out tomorrow to do a little shopping so I can pick up a couple of memory cards. Poor planning on my part not having bought them while the camera was in transit.

Again, thanks for the welcome!

Will
