Excellent shot.

I just reviewed your other train images. This is the first one that was obviously taken from railroad property.

You should be proud of your industry's safety campaign. It has been very effective here at the Hog. Many members will now quickly respond to images like this. Almost all reminding us that an image is never worth dying for. And, they often do so with a zeal normally reserved for the Politics, religion, and gun control threads in the Chit-chat section.

I'm glad you were able to provide a such a nice view that was obtained legally and safely.

Like the shot. Dont listen to idiot who is trying to steal your thunder. Its up to the photographer to take the shot at his/her own risk. You dont have to explain yourself to anyone, shoot and share your shots. Its not up to anyone to pass judgment, just enjoy everyones work. Btw keep them coming i personally like train shots.

MY wife and myself are managers of: Clinton Northern Railway and museum, in St. Johns MI (look up our (clintonnorthernrailway.org). We miss having the engines, old and new coming through. We will soon have a rails to trails (CIS) coming through thanks to the fact that it was GTW RR that brought about St. Johns MI.
We do have old rail cars (four) that we are restoring, I have a pocket full of pics, so I appreciate engine pictures. Our nearby city of Owosso has an old engine (1225) that was the model for the Polar Express.
We have a few engineers and old timer RR worker pass through and it always a joy to get stories and info from them.

I absolutely cannot fathom why people do not and/or cannot read. I thought you did a very good job of explaining yourself in your original post. Nice photo!

I really don't care what he says especially when he's only posted 6 items and none of it photos.

But I intend to post more and thanks for looking

Perspective can also reduce size when this train rolls over you. Did you know that you are trespassing when you take a photo like this ?

Very nice picture. I enjoy it. The rest of you folks need t o get a life, and lighten up. Why not add a little spice to your life and try something a little on the wild side. That means you are trespassing every time you cross the RR in your car.

Winter must be long in Florida.

gtwhogger has, without any doubt taken an excellent photograph. If he wanted to leave his loco and walk along the track and take some photos, what's the harm in doing so.
I am at a loss to understand why some members needed to go off at tangent and criticize his actions when in fact it was nothing to do with them, it was the photograph that mattered.

Do you own the RR,or are you an employee. Do you have written permission to do this type of photography of your company's equipment and display it publicly from their property ?

gtwhogger has made another post, are you going to continue in your role as self appointed safety guardian?
