Catherine is the name of my new x2 leica to b delivered next week. I am new to photography except for Catherine. In Vietnam 67-68 I had the honor to be acquainted with Catherine Leroy a pretty young French woman who was a war photographer and it was the first time I had ever seen a leica m2 and b

Because of her I bought my x2 all it does is take pictures no gps wifi is or video. She was quite a woman and she died 2006, from lung cancer and as a soon to be retired service officer who did disability claims for our vets this woman never had the right to put one in for agent orange. So Catherine here's to you kid!

Welcome and thanks for your service in Nam...I was fortunate enough to remain states-side during that era. Looking forward to your posts with your new camera. ;-)

Welcome. I'm new to the site as well, and a Marine Combat Veteran out of I Corps 1965-1966. I found that I preferred nature, floral macro and landscape to portraiture. I think it's the desire to only focus on the beauty of it all.....good luck!

Welcome to the forum. As a door gunner in a Marine Helicopter unit from 66-68 I had the privilege to occasionally see war photographers. Most used Nikon or Leica, both fantastic cameras then and still. Thanks for your service. We are looking forward to seeing your posts.

gdewey, thanks for your service. I was also out of I Corps starting in 1966 at Marble Mountain with HMM-265. One of these days I may bring myself to look at some of my old photos from that time. Then again maybe not.

Indiana,

I doubt I have EVER met a Corpsman I didn't like. Thanks for your service no matter where or when. We of the USMC look at all Corpsmen as brothers.
