A quick question Regis; how is the weight and balance of this lens?
Also, have you tried it on any other camera?
Do you use it handheld or are your photos primarily on a pod mount?
Thanks in advance for your answers...

That's really impressive. I hope the one I have coming in on Thursday works as good on my 5d mk3.
Thank you very much, montzenger. It should work just as good or better than my images. You have a great camera (5D MK3) with a faster auto-focus than mine which is to your advantage when shooting fast moving objects such as birds-in-flight.
Very impressive comparison and nicely done..........I'm sold

All my shots are hand held even these recent comparison shots are hand held. This just my style of shooting. If you or anybody prefers using a monopod or tripod, then go for it.
The weight of the Tamron 150-600mm is about 4.2 lbs. and has good balance with my smaller and lighter Canon 6D camera compared to other full frame cameras.
The Sigma 150-500 and 50-500mm lenses (I owned both) are comparable in size and weight. I haven't tried any other camera on this Tamron lens. I know the Canon 5d MK III is about 8 oz. heavier than mine so a person will have to handle the extra weigh there or with another similar heavy camera. It wouldn't be a problem for me (I am 70) but for some women it could be a weight problem.
There is no other lens on the market that's as light as this 150-600mm lens. A Canon f/4 500mm prime lens weighs 22.7 lbs.. Any other comparable 600mm lens will be at least twice the weight.

Great visual comparison Regis. This may just help me on deciding what my next lens will be. Thanks.
Thank you, zeek. This is a great lens for the money. If you want something better, be prepared to spend $10,000 or more.

Thank you for patiently answering my questions sir.
One more; how do you find the fit and finish of the lens? I know it's new, but is it well built? Is there any noticeable lens creep?
I appreciate both your willingness to share your pictures AND your knowledge. Thanks!

The fit and finish are good. It is well built and rugged enough to last a very long time. There is a noticeable lens creep but is manageable and there is a locking button to prevent this lens creep. There is a 6 year warrantee compared to the 1 year warrantee on most if not all Canon lenses.

COOL!
I am SERIOUSLY considering that lens. It's HALF the cost of the new Sony 70-400mm G lens and the image quality looks pretty good on your full frame.
6 year warranty too?!?!
I've had pretty good luck with Tamron in the past so my eye is wandering their way.
Thanks!
