Early Morning Shot- Need Some Ideas

My wife likes this early morning shot, and while I don't think it's terrible, it just doesn't jump out and grab me, if you know what I mean. I would like to improve it and print it for her but I could use some suggestions or a look at how some of you would edit it. I use PSE12 for my editing.

What a beautiful picture! As far as editing, my suggestion would be to crop part of the trees on the right side to give more focus on the mountain haze. The tree grouping on the left offers the balance.

Now that you point it out, the dead-looking branches on the right don't add anything to the photo.
Thanks

Here are my ideas, which are easy to try. Crop it into a square, just to the left of the large upright tree to the right of the mountain. This will leave you with some bare branches inserting themselves in an unwelcome way into the right side of the frame. Use the healing brush and make them disappear. Then, in the guided edit mode, use the "Saturated slide film" effect and see if you like the changes to the color. That doesn't work on some photos, but I think it would on this. If you will permit a post, I can show you a quick edit which does these things.

This was done quickly. The top edge of the crop is messy, but I think this solves the problem of the right hand side of the photo and makes your beautiful photo pop a little more. I hope they are pleasing to you. Gives you an idea to try, anyway!

Heirloom's crop and effect is super!

LFingar, didn't know if you were aware of the post-processing section on UHH. It has great tutorials and there are always members willing to help with specific issues. Here's an overview, if you're interested:

Glad you like it. I hesitated to post the tortilla. My work is normally more attractive than that, in the kitchen and also in photos. I posted some odd photos this past week. I think the snowstorm got the better of me. :-P

Just blame it on cabin fever! Besides, life is boring if you are normal everyday!

I do enjoy moments (years, eons) of levity and nuttiness. :-P
