I thought this would interest some folks here. From the New York Times.
BAGHDAD A group of Sunni militants attending a suicide bombing training class at a camp north of Baghdad were killed on Monday when their commander unwittingly conducted a demonstration with a belt that was packed with explosives, army and police officials said.
The militants belonged to a group known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, which is fighting the Shiite-dominated army of the Iraqi government, mostly in Anbar Province. But they are also linked to bomb attacks elsewhere and other fighting that has thrown Iraq deeper into sectarian violence.
Twenty-two ISIS members were killed, and 15 were wounded, in the explosion at the camp, which is in a farming area in the northeastern province of Samara, according to the police and army officials. Stores of other explosive devices and heavy weapons were also kept there, the officials said.
Eight militants were arrested when they tried to escape, the officials said.
The militant who was conducting the training was not identified by name, but he was described by an Iraqi Army officer as a prolific recruiter who was able to kill the bad guys for once.http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/11/world/middleeast/suicide-bomb-instructor-accidentally-kills-iraqi-pupils.html?_r=0

Yeh..pity they don't do it more often!!
15 wounded.....how long before some 'well meaning' person starts agitating that they be sent to England or America for treatment at the tax payers expense?
I wouldn't be surprised if the white house doesn't sent them to our Veterans hospitals for treatment
Good job!!!

A type of poetic justice. They all had plans to die, seems it was just a bit quicker than originally intended. Its ashamed this don't happen more often. I hate to say that about any human being, but it is quite obvious that they breed "hate" in that region and the world already has enough of that.

Nice to see good news reported once in a while.
A few years ago after working late I rode down in the elevator with a guy I didn't know. The news screen was reporting a suicide bombing. He looked at me and said: Those guys who are training them should lead by example."
Maybe this is the beginning of them taking his advice. One can only hope.
The eight militants who tried to escape..................was it through the ceiling?
The Iraq hockey team has been refused access to the Sochi Winter Olympic Games. Seems they tried to send 20 suicide bombers as goalies and only 2 forwards on the team. The goalies were instructed to self destruct when anyone got close to making a goal.
When asked, the Iraqi coach said,"That's the way we play the game."
Also, the team had some difficulty when arriving in Sochi for having sword length detachable skate blades which security flagged immediately as being illegal for use in hockey.
BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD.

Terrorists on the anti-Israel front regularly blow themselves up in what the Israelis euphemistically call "work accidents." Incredibly, (and IMO idiotically) the Israelis provide free medical treatment for the survivors of such incidents.
