I have the Nikon D7000 and I am looking at the Nikkor 85mm f1.8G AF-S FX lens. Will this work with my D7000?

Thanks, Dee

Literally ANY autofocus lens with the Nikon mount will be fully functional on your camera, no exceptions!

Yep, have the same setup and love it. Keep in mind that, with the crop, the equivalent magnification for that 85 mm lens will be about 127 or so. Still, I love the lens.

Yes it will work and it is a stellar lens. One of Nikon's finest.

Thanks for the input. Newbie here to DSLR so what does that mean? Will I shoot what I see in the viewer? And does this have to do with DX vs FX?

Thank you everyone. Looks like a winner! I photograph animals at the local shelter and I am paying more attention to the animal's face than the background so unless I am right in the animal's face I get some very distracting areas for background.

One problem: if the pictures aren't great, you have only yourself to blame. :|

Probably the second best thing about prime lenses. Since the optical engineers don't have to worry about zoom, they can worry about large maximum aperture (f/1.8 instead of f/4) and bokeh.

Ya know, I bokah'd my nose twice in my life.

I'm still here, and those cars are junk!
