Need one or two memory cards for my canon 60d which takes SD, SDHC, or SDXC. Still using the SanDisk which came with the camera. I think I want 16 MB so I'm not puting all my eggs in one basket (maybe 8 MB). Many of you have been shooting DSLR far longer and far more than I, therefore know much more than I,so your thoughts will be very helpful in picking the right card.

I still do not shoot RAW

I've never had a problem with Sandisk, lexar professional or hoodman. I think going with any of those will be your best bet. going from personal experience.

(Edit: I think you meant GB rather than MB...not that it matters though ;) )

Be sure to look for a Class 10 category, to ensure max performance.

Does Class 10 refer to the reading/writing speed or am I mixing that up with something else?

You are right; however, Class 10 cards come in various read/write speeds. The higher the speeds, the higher the price. I saw at B&H a Class 10 64gb rated at about 90 mb/s that was priced somewhere north of $100.00. I decided 80 mb/s was good enough for me, even that set me back about $80.00

The card that just broke on you is a good brand. You were just unlucky.

ArcticPug - cute name. My pugs wouldn't like life in the Arctic at all. They prefer being curled up together on a chair or sleeping by the wood stove.

Haha, thanks! I'm pretty sure if my pugs had a life in the arctic, the first thing they'd do is dig a hole and hibernate :-o
My username actually combines one of my favorite bands and my favorite dog! ;)

RacerDan - You're getting lots of good suggestions on cards.

I suggest you begin shooting RAW. :D

SanDisk cards are EXCELLENT!

I've never had one fail... EVER. In any format.

If you stuck with that brand you'll be in good shape.

Note that the card is a 8mb vs 64mb.
