first attempt at merging. Somewhere in Utah.
I now have PhotoScape and experimented with merging two photos together to make a wider scene. I'm sure you'll be able to pick the spot, I got sick of fiddling in the end.
A beautiful spot near Torrey I think, taken on our US trip.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again - a good effort.

Everything takes practice (that's part of the fun). Good effort.
It's a beautiful scene, well worth your efforts :)

Looks good to me, Jude. It is really pretty on download.
Thanks for your comments, it was fun fiddling with the clone tool but had trouble getting the hang of it at times. Gone are the days when you took a photo and that was it....good or bad.

Hi koalaroo
That's a beautiful scene and nicely composed and exposed.
There are lots of stitching programs that will help you do that easily and quickly, but you must shoot with that in mind because there are a few important points to consider. Ironically, you'll find that compacts have this stitching (to create a panorama) feature built in.
Basically, you need to shoot with an overlap of about 1/3 and fix your aperture. As you can see in your image, some of the foreground foliage are sharp and some are blurred(unless it was subject movement) and looks awkward. Google for tutorials. Good luck.
Thanks Chinaman, it was an experiment, had to crop one quite a lot to join up, then do lots of cloning to try to make it blend naturally. Thanks for your advice, much appreciated.
