Montana is a state filled with beauty and dirt roads. Here's a tribute to a few of them south of Deer Lodge near Racetrack.
*Note: For those of you who are grammer Nazis, by Montana standards, Racetrack is one word, although I can't explain why. The area around Racetrack got it's name because it was relatively flat and was therefore an excellent place for horse racing between the first white pioneers (later settlers) and passing Indian tribes on their way to hunt buffalo on the plains east of the Continental Divide.

Modesty Creek Road looking west. Modesty Creek Road was opened about one year ago after being gated shut to the public by landowners in the 1980s. The issue was brought before the court and the road was determined to be public and the locks had to be removed.

My ranch...I just have to figure out how to get rid of those squatters who reside there now. They've gotten a little agitated at me and the picking rock salt out of my wounds is starting to get a little irritating.

Hi Whuff, thanks for the input. I wish we had four seasons out here. There's only two...winter and August.

Very nice set, I like your last photo of your ranch. I live in southern Colorado and love to drive the county roads in the mountains. One question, do you know any history of where the erecting a log arch at the entrance to ranches came from. I have a album of ranches entrances that is now over 200. They are so unique and range of simple to very elaborate.

Oh me Oh my, "squatters who reside there now"

Most states have real estate laws to the effect that squatters own the place under certain conditions. One of them is that the owner is aware of them and hostile, the next is a time period of xx years. Check with your licensed and trusted real estate firm for the fine print. You may be in danger of loosing your farm.

Beautiful country and great photos.
Why are squatters in your home? I assume you don't live there.
Hope you are seriously considering legal intervention. Would hate to see you lose your ranch.

Enjoyed the entire set but really like #2. Looks like you have a very nice ranch nestled in a beautiful setting.
