Do they come from Canada? If so why aren't they called Canadian Geese? Any one know?

Not sure of the plural spelling. I just know when they leave droppings on lawns and beaches people have other names for them.

You are so right, on some of our lake shores it's like wading through green slimey mini sausages. They must be very unappatising or your Duck Hunters would have thinned their numbers a bit.

Here is your answer from Wikopedia

"The Canada Goose is often incorrectly referred to as the "Canadian Goose".

They would have to have passports if they were Canadian geese. We have some permanent resident ones here in GA on our lake.

You need to be more sensitive. Geese are people too. I know they can sure mess up a golf course. Especially where I have to drop a ball after hitting into the water. That happens often with my game.

Thanks for the link. Nearly went to sleep reading all that latin, but as I see it all the cr@p I have to wade through when fishing is the fault of all you North American/Canadians and the French, not hunting them when they are breeding, and then sending them in breeding pairs to our Royalty. As Wabbit would say 'This means war'.
