LIGHT METERING MODE

My interest with photography began two years ago. I have a canon 7D. I understand the different metering modes (evaluative, spot, etc.) when shooting in every mode except bulb.
Does changing the metering type make any difference when using the bulb setting. I also took some pics of flowers using light painting with a penlight. Would the meter setting have any effect on the on them. I always shoot RAW.

Any info would be appreciated.

Bulb setting pertains to time shutter is open not metering. Camera usually default to 30 seconds, bulb mode allows for a longer shutter opening time if you keep the shutter button depressed or use a remote.

Exposure is exposure. The exposure for a good photograph has to be correct in Bulb, A, S, Program or Manual mode irrespective of the metering mode.
When you take an exposure and you use the "painting with light" technique the light used can change the exposure since you are adding light to the original.

When you engage the Bulb setting the camera meter is de-activated therefore it doesn't matter what meter mode you have set.
Pete.
