I like both for their own reasons, the only difference I'd like to see is a flatter horizon.

I really like the rocks poking out of the fog with the lighthouse... of course, that's the entire reason for building a lighthouse!

oh, and why is sunlight in the cropped one less bright then the original?

To be honest, these could be better. I like them, but they really don't do anything at all for me.

I am not sure if these are the same photograph as they appear much different from each other, but you said the first one is cropped?

As a simi-pro, I'd say as I've told everyone. It really don't matter in the end who does or don't like them. They are your photographs and if you like them, Keep them.

To improve would be to fool around with them and see what you come up with.

I hope you don't mind I gave it a round of my own. Still does nothing for me either way but who knows?

good shots. too centered for my taste. I would have liked to see the horizon line on the lower third portion of the frame and the lighthouse in the right third of the frame. Rule of thirds composition.

I really hope you don't mind, but for me it is much better to show you than for me to try to explain because I am not good at explanations. You took an awesome photo and with a few minor adjustments it shows, so here is my take.

All I did was crop to the rule of thirds, darken a bit, leveled out the horizon, and reduced the noise. hope you like it.

Haven't done that one yet but it's just a matter of time. I have left my card back in the computer. So I stopped taking it out.
