That's a great shot. Wonderful composition. I remember those. Are they still in use HT?

Thanks, Garry.
I don't believe there is any prohibition on cameras in post offices.

It's ok, it was a walk-by shooting.

Nice shot, HT. I've never seen anyone get so much done in just 15 minutes. You must have had a lot of coffee today. :D

Thank you, James. They are very much in use. The post office was built in 1931. There are four walls of post boxes, in varying sizes. I love the metal trim. You'd never see anything so detailed made today.

Wonderful that they have them. Our post office built in 2009 just has dull and drab gray metal painted doors for private boxes. These IMHO are so much nicer.

They work just as well as they ever did, too. Sturdy! I love old public and church buildings. They are often such works of art.

Just my twisted sense of humor working overtime, Garry. Although if the truth be known, I generally have to bite my tongue and keep such comments to myself. The last time I made such a comment, there was quite a commotion by folks who are under the impression that their gun rights take precedence over children getting shot in schools...

Once again, a wonderful composition with a different take on a familiar pattern and just a touch of color. Very nice Heirloom!

It is a very nice shot, HT and you're right. Things aren't built like that very often anymore because true artisans are hard to come by and very expensive which is the secondary reason why it doesn't happen much. Brass and copper tends to get hijacked these days.

Thanks, Mike. There has been so much copper stolen around here I'm surprised no one has raided the post office. Maybe because they have security cameras!
