An interview with fad2000,
1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
40 Years........Semi Professional the last 3
2) Do you have any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
No formal training.......I do parties for relatives and friends. I shoot models to enhance their portfolios and I shoot action baseball events.
3) In your opinion, what makes a good picture stand out from the rest?
Tack sharp photos intrigue me. However, being able to select and envision a potential photo is always a plus.
4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup? Can you walk us through it?
I used a Sony A77 with a Carl Zeiss Sony 24-70mm with a constant f/2.8 Aperture. The nest was in a tree 15 feet in front of my picture window. A photographers dream setup.
5) Do you post process your final images, and if so can you describe your workflow?
Yes, I post process. Usually to crop and enhance the contrast and exposure (if need be).
6) Who or what has influenced your photography and what inspired you to take your winning shot?
No one inspired me. I always liked capturing moments in time.....whether they be family memories or spur of the moment shots.
7) Would you change anything if you could do it again, and if so what?
Would have liked to have a digital camera 40 years ago............
8) What is the one thing you wish you knew when you started taking photos?
Would have liked to take 100 times more photos in the early days.........
9) What is your favorite photography accessory, other than your camera?
My editing software.
10) If you had to choose one lens which one would it be and why?
The Sony 24-70 Zeiss is my choice. It's on my camera 95% of the time. Well worth the money.........
11) What lighting equipment, if any, do you take on a shoot?
For parties the Sony wireless external flash. Formal indoor shoots I use Backdrop Lighting kits
12) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
Very good question.......I guess I would be very bored!!
13) Do you have any funny or interesting stories about your experiences?
Most interesting would be my taking pictures from the top of the Freedom Tower in NYC.
14) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
